Fanoon Art Festival

The Grow School System, Main Kalapull, Murree Road Nawanshehr

29 August 2026 — The Grow School System, Abbottabad Fanoon Art Festival 2026 was successfully held on 29 August 2026, bringing together young artists, students, calligraphers, and art enthusiasts from across the region and beyond. The festival featured Art and Calligraphy Competitions, live demonstrations by renowned artists and calligraphers, and recognition of emerging talent through awards and certificates. The event was organized with the collaboration and support of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Abbottabad, District Youth Office Abbottabad, Itmad News, and The Grow School System. The festival marked an important milestone in the launch of Fanoon Art Academy, founded and directed by Mudassar Ghaffar, with a vision to promote art education, creativity, and artistic development.

Fanoon Art Festival 2026 was successfully held on 29 August 2026 at The Grow School System, Abbottabad, marking an important milestone in the launch and public introduction of Fanoon Art Academy.

The festival brought together young artists, students, calligraphers, art educators, and art enthusiasts from Abbottabad and surrounding areas, as well as participants from Mansehra, Haripur, Islamabad, Taxila, Lahore, Peshawar, and other locations. Participants represented a diverse range of educational institutions, art organizations, and independent young artists.

Art & Calligraphy Competitions

A central part of the festival was the Art Competition and Calligraphy Competition, providing participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, technical ability, and individual artistic expression.

Outstanding participants were recognized with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position awards, along with certificates of appreciation. Notable achievers included participants associated with The Grow School System, The PEACE School, Modernage, as well as artists who participated independently.

Live Art Demonstrations

One of the major attractions of the festival was a series of live painting and calligraphy demonstrations by accomplished artists and calligraphers.

Sir Nasir Shehzad, renowned Pakistani artist and recipient of the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, presented a live traditional painting demonstration, giving participants and visitors an opportunity to observe his artistic process and approach firsthand.

Mr. Nadeem Ghaffar, an internationally recognized and award-winning calligrapher, presented a live calligraphy demonstration, highlighting the discipline, precision, and expressive possibilities of the art form.

The festival also featured live demonstrations by Sajid Murad and Pervaiz Khan, adding further diversity to the artistic presentations and giving participants an opportunity to experience different approaches and techniques in art.

Collaboration & Support

The festival was organized with the collaboration and support of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Abbottabad, District Youth Office Abbottabad, Itmad News, and The Grow School System.

Mr. Anees Qureshi, Assistant District Youth Officer Abbottabad, attended the event and represented the District Youth Office.

The participation and support of educational institutions, artists, local organizations, and the wider community contributed to creating a meaningful platform for artistic interaction, learning, and youth engagement.

A New Chapter for Fanoon Art Academy

The festival also served as the public launch platform for Fanoon Art Academy, founded and directed by Mudassar Ghaffar, Digital Fine Artist.

Fanoon Art Academy aims to provide structured learning and creative development in Painting, Calligraphy, and Digital Fine Art, while encouraging students to develop observation, imagination, technical skills, and their own artistic voice.

Through the festival, Fanoon Art Academy took its first major step toward establishing a dedicated platform for art education and creative development in Abbottabad.

The festival represented not only a celebration of art, but also the beginning of a continuing effort to create opportunities for young people to learn, create, participate, and connect through art.
